Peer Wellness Specialist Certification Training
El Instituto de El Jardin's Peer Wellness Specialist certification training is state-approved for the Peer Wellness Specialist credential with a specialization of Adult Mental Health, Addiction or both through the Oregon Health Authority. Our training is also approved through the Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) as a Certified Recovery Mentor eligible training.
The role of the Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) is to provide encouragement and assistance to address whole body wellness, including mental health needs and addiction support. As a PWS, an individual draws from their own lived-experience to support others in their self-directed recovery. This 80-hour instructor-led, virtual training qualifies participants to apply for the Peer Wellness Specialist Certification and the Certified Recovery Mentor Certification.

Continuing Education Courses
The following courses are intended as continuing education for the Peer Support Specialist, Peer Wellness Specialist, Certified Recovery Mentor, and the Certified Gambling Recovery Mentor credentials. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are accredited by the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO). The topics are curated to support the professional development for individuals who may not have had the opportunity to learn soft and hard skills necessary for their current role in the behavioral health field. Our hope is that these courses will expand your skillset and support a prolonged career in the recovery field.
