El Instituto de El Jardin's Peer Wellness Specialist certification training is state-approved for the Peer Wellness Specialist credential with a specialization of Adult Mental Health, Addiction or both through the Oregon Health Authority. Our 80-hr training is hosted in Spanish, online and in the evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This specialist training is entirely free and meets the state requirements for both the PWS certificate and Certified Recovery Mentor credential. Further technology support is available upon request.
Peer Support with Culture in Mind
The role of the Peer Wellness Specialist is to provide peer support, encouragement, and assistance to address SUD and mental health needs. As a PWS, an individual draws from their own background and experience to support others in their self-directed recovery. This 80-hr online training qualifies participants to apply for the Peer Wellness Specialist Certification and the Certified Recovery Mentor Certification.
